At approximately 5:38 a.m., the Isanti County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle crash located at Co. Rd. 5, near the junction of Jodrell Dr. NE. in North Branch Township, east of Isanti.

Upon arrival, officers found a 2000 Buick Lesabre, drivn by Bartelt and a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant, driven by Kamann, with heavy front-end damage, and drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.

Isanti County Sheriff Russ Monson said at the time of the accident road conditions were good, and it does not appear the road conditions or weather was a factor.

The accident remains under investigation by the Isanti County Sheriff’s Department and the Minnesota State Patrol Accident Reconstruction Unit.

My heart and prayers go out to both of the families. I have been there and know the pain you are feeling. God Bless you all. He will help you through this no matter what you feel now. Many of my loved ones were laid to rest in St. John's Cemetery on Cty Rd 5. All to young to die. Stay strong, and know that the Lord loves you, and will not forsake you. Your loved one is in a glorious place, and will be with you forever in your heart.

My Sincerest Sympathy to you all,
Patty Swanson (Boots)
