Strawberry rhubarb bread and muffins from Herman’s Bakery in Cambridge were the featured treats Oct. 29 at U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar’s “Minnesota Morning.”
Klobuchar has visited dozens of Minnesota communities in recent months. After tasting favorite local foods at several stops, she decided to showcase these Minnesota specialties at the weekly Thursday morning coffee gatherings in her Washington, D.C., office.

Herman’s Bakery was established in 1980 as a small independent bakery and coffee shop. It remains a popular breakfast and lunch destination for the local community, according to the U.S. senator’s office.
“Herman’s Bakery is a great example of a homemade Minnesota business – the kind that keeps our communities strong and vibrant,” said Klobuchar. “It is my privilege to share some of the treats they have to offer in our nation’s capitol.”
Klobuchar hosts “Minnesota Morning” every Thursday when the Senate is in session. She invites all visiting Minnesotans who can hear first-hand accounts of her work in the Senate, meet Klobuchar’s staff and take photographs together.
