The 43 year-old Huang, who was living with his employer in Cambridge at the time of the incident, was originally charged with a felony count of  prostitution-engaging a 13-15-year-old and gross misdemeanor prostitution-solicitation to hire, offer or agree to hire to engage in prostitution in a public place.

The case began shortly before 2:30 p.m. Aug. 2 when Huang approached a 14-year-old boy in the fairground’s restroom, offering him $10 for a sex act.

The teen immediately left the restroom and reported the incident to his mother. Law enforcement responded minutes later and closed the fairground gates in an effort to contain the suspect. Using the boy’s description of the suspect, they quickly apprehended Huang.

Huang appeared for sentencing before Judge P. Hunter Anderson Oct. 14 where he pleaded guilty to one count of gross misdemeanor prostitution-hiring, offering or agreeing to hire  to engage in prostitution in a public place. All other charges were dismissed.

Judge Anderson sentenced Huang to 365 days in jail, a $125 fine and ordered him to register as a predatory sex offender for the next 10 years.
