‘Safety Saturday’ April 18
Cambridge-Isanti Women of Today will host their second annual ‘Safety Saturday.’
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at the Minnco Center community room, 236 2nd Avenue SW, in Cambridge.
The following will be present: Mason’s for fingerprinting, Allina Ambulance to tour, The Refuge Network, Cambridge Medical (car seat safety, blood pressure check), farm safety info, boat safety coloring sheets, Cambridge Fire & Police Department, Isanti Sheriff’s Department, K-9 dog Nike with officer Chris Caulk, Identity theft info and learning the effects of bullying.
Free food and refreshments will be provided by Lake State Federal Credit Union, Viking Coca Cola and Walmart. For questions or participation call Carla at 763-354-6124.
College hosts meth education day April 18
Anoka-Ramsey Community College is offering a Day of Methamphetamine education for nurses, health care professionals and the general public on Saturday, April 18 at the Cambridge Campus.
Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., and the program goes from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at 300 Spirit River Dr. S. The cost is $35 for the general public, $25 for Anoka-Ramsey alumni and $15 for current Anoka-Ramsey students, faculty and staff. Lunch is included.
Speakers at the event include Christine Andres, RN; Mathias Karayan, MA, LADC from New Beginnings; Chris Janssen of the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office; and Rick Moldenhauer, MS, LADC, ICADC, LPC from the State Opioid Treatment Authority.

Rotary Law Day features MN Supreme Court justice
Minnesota Supreme Court Justice G. Barry Anderson is scheduled for Cambridge-Isanti Rotary Club’s Annual Law Day presentation from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Friday, May 1 at First Baptist Church in Cambridge.
The public is invited to the presentation, and there is no charge.
Anderson, a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and the University of Minnesota Law School, was a member of the Minnesota Court of Appeals from August l998 until his appointment to the Supreme Court. He was sworn in and joined the court in October 2004.
Anderson’s background includes service as chairman of the Board of Directors of Hutchinson Community Video Network, a local public access television effort; two terms as president of Hutchinson Rotary Club; and a wide variety of other community activities.
He is also a frequent contributor to continuing legal education efforts and has lectured on the use of expert witnesses and similar topics.
