Dawn Goldenstein, 43, of Isanti, lost her battle with cancer peacefully in her home on January 8, 2009.

ImageDawn Marie Goldenstein, the first of two girls born to Clinton and Irene Goldenstein, was born March 31, 1965 in Minneapolis. She lived her early years in Minneapolis and then in 1972 the family moved to Isanti. Dawn graduated from Cambridge High School, Class of 1983. She lived in Georgia for awhile with her sister, Linda, before moving back to the family home in Isanti.

Dawn loved all kinds of outdoor activities from taking care of the yard, tending to her flowers and feeding the birds. She loved ice fishing and snowmobiling in the winter and fishing, boating and camping in the summer. Mike and Dawn spent many weekends at their family cabin in Wisconsin. She loved going to stock car races.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Clinton Goldenstein; sister, Linda Goldenstein; and grandparents. She is survived by her mother, Irene Goldenstein of Isanti; special friend, Mike Jansen of North Branch; goddaughter, Amaya Raths of Donnelly; and aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14 at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti with Rev. Valerie Brown-Greenly officiating. The soloist will be Mary Falk and Shirley Olson, organist. Honorary pallbearers are all who called her a friend. Interment in Athens Lutheran Cemetery.
