Reminder on Filing Statements Print E-mail

The Isanti County News will publish one free filing statement and photo for each of the candidates running for Cambridge and Braham city councils, with the condition the statement is 350 words or less, and is subject to editing by the newspaper. Filing statements must be received by Friday, Sept. 3, at 4 p.m. for final publication in the newspaper’s Sept. 8 edition. Filing statements received after Sept. 3 will not be published unless as a paid advertisement.

Filing statements and photos may be emailed to editor.countynews@ecm-inc.com or mailed or dropped off at the office, 234 South Main Street, Cambridge, MN 55008.

Campaign signs not permitted on state right-of-way Print E-mail
Placement of campaign signs and other unauthorized objects in state highway rights of way is prohibited under state law, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. 

In addition, signs may not be placed on private property outside of the right of way limits without landowner consent.
 
Former House minority leader Entenza works toward DFL governor primary Print E-mail
Former DFL House minority leader Matt Entenza of St. Paul may soar over Minnesota as governor one day, but that will require political lift.

A licensed pilot, Entenza, 48, is locked in a competitive primary race with DFL-endorsed gubernatorial candidate Margaret Anderson Kelliher and former U.S. senator Mark Dayton to represent the party on the November ballot.
