Meet a new reporter for the Isanti County News

My name is Tiffany Kafer and I am a new part-time reporter for the Isanti County News. I am looking forward to covering community events, writing feature stories and getting to know even more members of the community.

Tiffany Kafer

In July of this year I graduated from Anoka-Ramsey Community College with an Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis in Psychology. I am currently enrolled at Concordia University St. Paul and am pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and I anticipate my graduation to be May 2018. I feel as though I’ve been in school forever, and maybe I have, since I began college as a PSEO student in 2001. My two-year associate degree has officially taken me 16 years to complete, but I believe that is a true testament of the idea that in the end hard work really does pay off.

I was born and raised in the city of Cambridge where I resided up until recently when my husband and I purchased our dream home just east of town, in Fish Lake Township.

My husband, Brent, and I have five amazing children, Brennan (13), Mikayla (10), Savannah (5), Linkon (3), and Koltyn (8 months), and have been married for 11 years. Our abundance of children and our busy life would be the reasoning behind my 16-year Associate degree, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Outside of the office I spend the majority of time standing in the shadows of my children, whether it be at a basketball game, a cheer competition, soccer, baseball or gymnastics, you can always find me on the sidelines cheering them on. On those rare occasions that I am able to sneak away I love to spend time with my husband trying out new restaurants and seeing movies. I also absolutely love to fish, especially casting for northerns and bass. Every year my family enjoys a week of fishing up in Crosslake at Boyd Lodge, and I’ve found that each year is better than the last.

I am naturally a very outgoing person, I love to meet new people, and I am always excited to hear a good story, so if you see me out and about, please feel free to stop and tell me yours.
