Braham Bombers continue their winning ways

The Braham Bombers continued their winning ways on the football field.
On Sept. 8, the boys traveled to Crosby-Ironton for their first road game of the season.
The score remained 6-6 after one quarter and the Bombers were on a mission to change that. They did so after two touchdown passes from senior Hunter Giffrow.
First he found senior Zach Zierden on a 12-yard play, then followed that with a 28-yard pass to senior Grant Wilsey. This was Wilsey’s second touchdown of the day, having scored on a two-yard run in the first quarter.
Crosby-Ironton answered with a touchdown pass of their own, but Giffrow was not finished. He tossed his third touchdown of the game at the end of the third quarter, and the Bombers went ahead 26-14.
The teams traded scores in the fourth, but the Bomber defense was able to hang on in the end, and the Bombers returned to Braham after the 34-22 win.
Assistant Coach Alex Sundly was impressed with his team and offensive line after a pair of great games to start the season.
“In the first two weeks of the season Braham football has been able to rack up a combined 594 rushing yards on 80 attempts, for a 7.4 yards per rush average on the way to victories over Chisholm and Crosby-Ironton,” he said. “All while giving up zero sacks to the opposition. It is for this stellar play that the Braham football coaches have named the starting offensive-line of Devin Shellito, Tom Baker, Alex Kurvers, Michael Tilkens-Rogstad and Cory Clemmer as Bombers of the Week.”
The boys will look to continue their winning ways when they host Hinckley-Finlayson on Sept. 15. The Bombers defeated the Jaguars last season in Esko to take home the Section 7A title.
