Multiple injuries sustained in incident with knife during altercation early July 3

Multiple people were treated at the Emergency Room of Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton early Monday, July 3, after an incident in Isanti County that involved a knife.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. in the area of County Road 5 and 309th Avenue Northwest in Spencer Brook Township, according to the Isanti County Sheriff’s Department.

Isanti County deputies learned a group of five adults and juveniles had gone to a residence where they were trespassing, according to the Sheriff’s Department. They were confronted by the homeowner when an altercation occurred.

At one point a knife was used during the altercation and several people were injured. All injured parties drove themselves to the Princeton hospital. Hospital personnel called law enforcement and notified them of the incident, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies with the Isanti County Sheriff’s Department continue to obtain statements from those involved.

It has been complicated by the fact that everyone involved had left the scene.

The reports will be sent to the Isanti County Attorney’s Office for review and consideration of potential charges once the investigation has been completed.
