Community comes together to help find missing child

Dear Editor:
On Thursday, June 22, our community showed an out pouring of support when a family in our community needed help when their son went missing. We are so impressed with the amount of people that came to help search for Kaine. We are happy to report that Kaine was found around 7:15 p.m. in a field about a mile and half east of his home. He was taken to Cambridge Medical Center for evaluation. He had been missing since 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

There were over 200 community volunteers that answered the call for help and others who donated food and water for the searchers. We had volunteer fire department members from Cambridge, Braham, North Branch, Isanti, Stacy-Lent and Harris Fire, Allina Ambulance, Isanti County Safety Rescue, Mounted Patrol, Chaplain, Isanti County Public Health, Heartland Express, Isanti County Emergency Management, Chisago County Emergency Management, Salvation Army, and State Patrol Helicopter.

We would like to thank New Hope Church and Pastor Bill Berg for graciously opening their church to us to use as a gathering point for volunteers, and Olson Construction for allowing us to use their property as a staging point for our Incident Command Post.

We were overwhelmed with the generosity from our community during this incident. Because there were so many people that donated time or other items, we cannot thank you all individually. We do appreciate everyone who came to help this family when they needed us.
