To continue its working partnership with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the Isanti City Council approved a resolution entering into a master partnership contract with MnDOT during its June 20 meeting.

City Engineer Brad DeWolf explained the master partnership contract provides an opportunity for the city of Isanti and MnDOT to work together on such items as roadway maintenance and to share professional services.

DeWolf explained the city has had this agreement in place for the past five years, and it’s time for another five-year renewal.

The master partnership contract establishes the working relationship between MnDOT and the city of Isanti for such items as routine road maintenance and professional services. It is a reciprocal agreement, meaning the city can utilize MnDOT services and MnDOT can utilize city services.

In other action, the council:
• Approved a resolution to allow a donation box to be placed at Isanti Liquor in support of the Minnesota Municipal Beverage Association’s Support the Troops Supplies Drive from July 1-30.

• Approved a local gambling permit for the Maddy Nelson Memorial Foundation to conduct a cornhole tournament for a raffle event to be held at the Isanti Rodeo Grounds on Sept. 9. The foundation’s proceeds are to be used for the Maddy Nelson Memorial Scholarship Fund and go toward other cancer research organizations.

• Approved a resolution offering position of human resources/city clerk to Katie Brooks with a start date of June 30.
