The fastest growing sport in Minnesota has found success at Cambridge-Isanti High School.
The CIHS Trap team just wrapped up their fourth season, and did so in style. The 2017 trap team finished first in Class 5A Conference 3.
The team began only four years ago by head coach Chris Johnson, along with some friends at Pheasants Forever, and the Isanti County Sportsman Club.
During the fall session in 2016, the team had 40 members. That number grew this spring, as the team rose to 44.
Along with continued growth on the shooting range, Johnson is hoping to have 50 kids by next spring.
Class 5A Conference 3 standings: Cambridge-Isanti; Alden-Conger; Owatonna, Benilde St. Margarets; Mora; Crookston; and Spring Lake Park.
