Braham School District honors staff members

Alan Haggenmiller, right, was honored upon his retirement from the custodial staff on which he has worked since 2012. He was introduced by his co-worker Bonnie Swanson.  Elementary School Principal Jeff Eklund served as master of ceremonies for Employee Recognition breakfast. He was also among the five years of service honorees. Lori Lemieux, third-grade and Bryan Johnson, elementary music and fifth-through 12th-grade band, were recognized as the Teachers of the Year award winners for 2017 during the annual Braham Schools Employee Breakfast. Ten-year service award honorees from left: Britne Engelking, Brooke Hohn, Katie Blomdahl, Kristi Lee and Tracy Fix.  Also honored were Cindy Ledford and Carla Maslow. Braham Area Schools recognized three retirees and honored 22 other employees at a Recognition Breakfast held June 1 in the high school commons.

Retirees included Beth Bergren, who began with the district in 1990 and has taught first, second, fourth and most recently sixth-grade; Gay Hagford who has worked in food service since 2012 as a helper/server; and Alan Haggenmiller, who has worked in the district since 2005 as a cleaner/sweeper and custodian in both of the district’s buildings.

The following were honored for their years of service: Roxanne Kirby, 30 years; Teresa Person, 25 years; Lori Auers, 20 years; Jennifer Lundin, 15 years; Katie Blomdahl, Britne Engelking, Tracy Fix, Brooke Hohn, Cindy Ledford, Kristi Lee and Carla Maslow, 10 years; and Jeff Eklund, Gay Hagford, Ellen McKinney, Jean Ann Mattson, Mariah Olson and Amie Shockman, 5 years.

Karen Leniz and Bryan Johnson received the Leadership in Educational Excellence Award and Marlys Carlson and Chris Thielen the Educational Support Staff Award.

Lori Lemieux and Brian Johnson were named Teachers of the Year.
