Stroke Awareness Month
Each May, the Minnesota Stroke Association celebrates National Stroke Awareness Month. The Association understands the needs of stroke survivors. While they work throughout the year to raise awareness about strokes and to enhance the quality of life for all people coping with their sudden and long-term effects, the month of May becomes a highlight for all who have been touched by a stroke.

The Minnesota Stroke Association, in collaboration with the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance, is excited to offer a program designed to help older adults understand their risk of stroke and falls and offer ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle and safe environment. This program, known as the Stroke and Falls Education (SAFE) Program, covers: recognizing the signs of stroke; risks of stroke; stroke prevention; risks of falls; and falls prevention.

This program will be held at SAC’s Enrichment Center on Wednesday, June 28 from 1-2:30 p.m. We hope you can join us for this free training session. Seating is limited and open to the public.
