African drummers to visit Art and Science Academy

On April 28, internationally-renowned African drummers and performers from Wula Drums Inc., New York, will visit the Art and Science Academy in Isanti performing and working with students during music classes.

The musicians will also provide two interactive performances in the afternoon for all the students. The group’s assembly program consists of group repertory performance, audience participation and general history of the rhythms, dances and culture.

Musicians performing include: Michael Markus, president of Wula Drums, musician and educator of 20 - plus years and M’Bemba Bangoura, a native of Guinea, West Africa and master drummer who is known as one of the best African drummers in the world.
