After dropping their first two games on the road, the Cambridge-Isanti softball team has found their first win.
On April 4, the girls traveled to St. Francis to open the 2017 season. It did not go as they had hoped, and they were forced to head home after a 16-3 rout.
Their next game on April 6 sent them back on the road to Chisago Lakes. It was a tight game right until the end, but the Bluejackets fell 3-2.
April 7 signaled the return to Cambridge-Isanti High School, and it came at the right time. The girls were back at home and ready to take their first win against the rival Princeton Tigers.
They did so in shutout fashion, as they took down the Tigers 5-0.
The Bluejackets will look to ride the momentum of their big win during their double-header on April 13. They will play host to both Duluth
Denfeld and North Branch.
A win over the Vikings would put the girls at 2-2 for Mississippi 8 Conference play, and get them out of last place.
The game against Denfeld will begin at 3 p.m. while the North Branch game is currently scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
