The boys opened the season on the road at St. Francis on April 4 for a Mississippi 8 Conference showdown. The boys put up a pair of runs in the first inning, but after that, the bats went quiet.

The boys surrendered seven runs through the first four innings, and could not catch up as they fell 7-3.

On April 6, the boys looked for redemption when they traveled to Chisago Lakes. It was more of the same however, as they lost 12-2.

The Bluejackets were able to return home on April 7 for a home game against rival Princeton. Senior pitcher Austin Schlenker did his best to hold off the Tigers, as he kept them scoreless through six innings.

Unfortunately, the Tigers came alive in the seventh, and put up five runs. Only two of which were allowed by Schlenker.

The boys fought hard in the final inning, but did not put together enough offense to catch the Tigers. The Bluejackets lost to Princeton 5-3.

The boys will be hoping for their first win at St. Anthony on April 11. Due to deadline, the Isanti County News will post results from that game in a later issue.

On April 13 they will return to Adolph Larson field to take on North Branch. That game begins at 4:30 p.m.
