Happy Wellderly Week

Do you act your age? Well, you sure don’t have to, especially this week. March 20-26 is “Wellderly Week,” a week to celebrate senior citizens who don’t act their age. It is held annually the week that begins the third Monday in March.

How can you celebrate being young at heart? Stay active. We’re not saying you have to run a marathon–just stay active. From walking to yoga, there are numerous ways to keep your body moving. Whatever you do, don’t stop moving! Give back to your community by volunteering. Maybe help someone who is less fortunate than you or someone who is homebound. You will be rewarded with a sense of accomplishment as you change the lives of others.

Enjoy this week and every week by doing something new and different. Maybe stop in at SAC’s and play a new card game. Participate in our coloring and-or knitting group on Tuesday mornings or our walking group on Thursday mornings. Come and learn how to play Bunco. If we don’t have what you are looking for, please contact us.

SAC’s is a great place to socialize and meet new friends. Spring is just around the corner (right?). This is a wonderful time to celebrate life. Research shows that senior citizens who participate in senior center programs experience measurable improvements in their physical, social, spiritual, emotional, mental, and economic well-being.

The staff at SAC’s Enrichment Center salutes those who are living their life to the fullest at any age. We are especially proud of those who reject the notion that aging is something to fear, or a reason to quit living. Our biggest joy is seeing the smiles on all of your faces as you enjoy making new friends and joining old friends. Happy Wellderly Week.
