On March 9, the boys traveled to Forest Lake for the 7AAAA quarterfinal. The Bluejackets entered the game as the underdog, ranked eighth while Forest Lake held the first-seed.

The game started with a bang thanks to Forest Lake’s up-tempo style of play. The boys tried their best to slow them down, and ended the first half trailing by only seven.

A defensively sound second-half for both squads sealed Cambridge-Isanti’s fate, as they could not catch up. In the end, they fell to the top-ranked Rangers 78-61.

Freshman Henry Abraham led the scoring charge for the Bluejackets by racking up 22 points. Senior captain Luke Johnson finished his final game with 19 points, nine rebounds and two assists.

The season did not go as planned for the Bluejackets, however they are still a young team. The squad will be graduating only three seniors, Luke Johnson, Ben Johnson and Colin Lundeen.

With a large core of junior and sophomore players, this season gave them the experience they need moving forward.
