Free Lessons for Pickleball

Ventriloquist comes to Cambridge Library

Thursday, Aug. 6: Comic ventriloquist James Wedgwood will bring his outrageous characters and hilarious audience participation to the Cambridge Primary School Multipurpose Room at 10:30 a.m. This program is free and open to the public.

Lake Francis Improvement Association Potluck

Saturday, Aug. 8: Lake Francis Improvement Association will host its annual potluck picnic from 1-3 p.m. at the swimming beach. Hot dogs and the fixing will be supplied, along with paper products and condiments. Bring a dish to share along with lawn chairs and your beverages (no alcoholic beverages). Auction at Long Lake Lutheran Church

Sunday, Aug. 9: An auction and luncheon will be held at Long Lake Lutheran Church (Highway 47 and 277th Avenue, Isanti). Lunch will be available for sale at 11 a.m. with the auction beginning at noon. Auction items include antiques, furniture, quilts, homemade jellies, jams, pickles, pies and garden produce and more. There will also be an antique car, truck and tractor display. Proceeds going to kitchen fund. All are welcome.

Monday, Aug. 10: The Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series will meet from 7-8 p.m. every Monday at the Cambridge Family Pathways Conference Room, 1575 East First Ave. (located in the food shelf building). Free Presentation on Tree Care and Maintenance

Thursday, Aug. 13: A free presentation on tree care and maintenance will be hosted by the Isanti County Master Gardeners at 7 p.m. at the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge, lover level, on “Tree Care and Maintenance: From Planting to Pruning.” This is a free to the public presentation, although reservations are required by calling 763-689-1810.

Matthew 25 Free Food Distribution

Saturday, Aug. 22: Matthew 25 is moving to the fourth Saturday of the month. The next Matthew 25 food distribution will be Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Isanti Middle School. This is a free food distribution program sponsored by Spirit River Community UMC, Shalom Shop and other contributors. Each person who attends, no matter their age, receives 2 sacks of the available groceries. They begin serving the public around 10 a.m. Check their Facebook page for updates or cancellations.
