MSF/NSF National softball tourney this weekend

COMMUNITY SPORTS:  The North American National Championships of the MSF/NSF slowpitch softball organization will be hosted at Sandquist Family Park in Cambridge this weekend.

Teams will be spread across three divisions as they vie for titles. Among those in the women’s brackets will be Team Chaos out of the Cambridge-Isanti Women’s League.

Mixed in the Men’s Class DD/D brackets will be the Patriot Lanes/TLS Concrete team from the C-I Men’s League. Representing the C-I Men’s League in the EE tourney will be Cambridge Collision, Scared Hitless and the Smokin’ Guns.

An opening ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening, with the first games kicking off at 7:15 p.m. Action resumes at 8 a.m. Saturday and carries through to the finals projected to begin around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

 

C-I Wrestling Golf Tourney Sept. 6

The 10th annual Bluejacket Wrestling Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Purple Hawk CC. Registration and social hour begins at 1 p.m. with a 3 p.m. shotgun start for the nine-hole, four-person scramble.

Dinner and raffle drawings begin at 5:30 p.m., with a bean bag contest to follow at 6:30 p.m. Fees are $65 per golfer or $260 for team which covers golf, cart and dinner.

 

MDHA Top Gun contest at IC Sportsman’s Club Sept. 6

The Isanti County Chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association will host a “Top Gun” shooting contest for individuals in three divisions: men, women and youth. The event takes place Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Isanti County Sportsman’s Club northwest of Cambridge, with registration at 9 a.m. and shooting beginning at 10 a.m.

Individuals will be scored in five events: archer, handgun, shotgun/trap, rifle and rimfire. There will also be more shooting games at the club to test skills and win prizes. Entry fee for the first round will be $35 which includes all ammo. Additional rounds are $30. Food from Full Throttle Smokehouse will be available onsite. C-I Hockey’s Golf Scramble Sept. 20

The third annual Bluejacket Boys Golf Tournament is coming Saturday, Sept. 20 to the Purple Hawk CC. Registration and social hour starts at 12 p.m., with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and finishing with dinner at 5:30 p.m.

Fees are $75 per golfer, $275 per four-person team or $30 for dinner only, with proceeds going to Cambridge-Isanti H.S. boys hockey. For questions, contact Jeff Risch (612-328-8992).
