Exhibition features work of Marilyn Taus

Through July 25: The Cambridge Center for the Arts is hosting an art exhibition featuring the paintings of the late Marilyn Taus, who taught at ARCC, and had a successful career as a painter, sculptor, ceramist and other media. Also in the show are works from the Visual Women, Taus’ mentoring group. The exhibit is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Saturdays, and noon to 6 p.m. on Thursdays at the Gallery, 140 Buchanan St. Suite 178.

Free Dinner & Bread Distribution

Thursday, July 3: A Free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution hosted by Cambridge UPC Church at 210 10th Ave. SW, Cambridge (Renting the Seventh Day Adventists Church) will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. For questions, or if you need a ride, call Pastor David L. Willis at 651-674-8842. Bread Distributions are held the first Thursday of each month from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Salad Luncheon at Sts. Peter and Paul Church

Wednesday, July 9: Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Braham (Highway 107) will hold its Salad Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ages 11 and up are $6, ages 6-10 are $2, and 5 and under are free. All welcome.

St. Elizabeth’s Isanti Parade Food Booth

Thursday, July 10: St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church will be selling food in the parking lot beginning at 4:30 p.m. prior to the start of the Isanti Rodeo Jubilee Days parade until gone. There will be water, pop, hot dogs, brats and burgers.

YMCA/Pool Facility Group Meeting

Thursday, July 10: A group of area citizens are meeting to discuss the prospects of a YMCA and public pool for Cambridge. Are you interested in making this become a reality for our area? Come to a meeting. All are welcome to meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Cambridge-Isanti High School cafeteria.

Herbs All Year, Many Dishes

Thursday, July 10: Presented by Marty Bergland, Emeritus Master Gardener, Wright County. She is a frequent speaker in many gardening areas. Culinary herbs are far more useful than generally considered. Join Bergland for ideas on growing fresh herbs year-round in your garden, landscape, small spaces and containers. Numerous methods for drying, freezing and storing herbs for year-round delicious eating will be presented. This free presentation at the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge at 7 p.m. is sponsored by the Isanti County Master Gardeners. Sister City Informational Meeting

3rd Annual ScholarDash 5K Fun Run/Walk

Saturday, Aug. 2: The 3rd Annual ScholarDash 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held from 9-10 a.m. at Braham Area High School. All proceeds benefit Braham Area Students in the form of honor loans to graduating seniors. Help make a difference in the life of a young adult by supporting Braham Area Dollars for Scholars. 13 and older to register for $20, t-shirt included. 12 and under to register but at no charge, no t-shirt.
