My name is Gary Moss and I am running for County Commissioner for District 2, representing the City of Braham, and Townships of Dalbo, Maple Ridge, Wyanett, Springvale and Stanchfield. I’d like to tell you a little about myself.
I graduated from the Minnesota College of Art and Design with the intention of becoming an artist. I then was drafted into the Marine Corps and served as a Combat Artist in Vietnam. I was named the Marine Corps Combat Artist of the Year in 1970. Following my discharge, I worked as Art Director for Brown & Bigelow and then at 3M. In 1978, I decided to pursue my passion for wildlife art and moved to Springvale, where I reside to this day. I have raised two children in the Cambridge-Isanti school district.
I am active in the Isanti County Environmental Coalition, past member of Community Education Advisory Council and the Isanti County Sportsmen’s Club. I am a contributor to DU, Pheasants Forever, and other conservation groups. I also helped start the local Ruffed Grouse Society chapter. Additional information is on my website.
As a self–employed person, I understand the importance of maintaining a strong rural economy. As commissioner, I will place a high priority on supporting a thriving business environment in our cities and rural business districts. I will work to spend tax revenues as efficiently and wisely as possible and in the best interest of the citizens. I am a good listener, and would do my best to answer questions, learn about the issues, and make good decisions.
I would appreciate your support in the primary, Tues. Aug. 12.
