C-I’s Johnson to play in All-Star baseball series on June 19-20

COMMUNITY SPORTS:   Cambridge-Isanti High School senior pitcher Jake Johnson has been selected as a member of the North Team in the 40th Annual Play Ball MN! All-Star Series. The series is organized by the Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association and sponsored by B.I.G. Athletics, Cambria, and Play Ball MN! The series showcases 80 of the top seniors in the state.

Jake is the 16th Bluejacket to represent the school and C-I communities at this prestigious event. The tournament will be played June 19-20 at beautiful Chaska Athletic Park.

Johnson, a University of Mary recruit, racked up 158 career strikeouts in 102 varsity innings for the Bluejackets. The two-time Mississippi 8 All-Conference selection owned a career ERA of 1.58 with his fine mix of pitches.

Olympic Day at Rum River BMX

The Rum River BMX Association invites all to take part in the Friday, June 20 Olympic Day for a free race and introduction to the sport of BMX racing. Grab your bike and helmet, and get out to the track on the north side of Isanti for the 6-7 p.m. registration.
