Free Dinner & Bread Distribution

Thursday, June 5: A Free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution hosted by Cambridge UPC Church at 210 10th Ave. SW, Cambridge (Renting the Seventh Day Adventists Church) will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. For questions, or if you need a ride, call Pastor David L. Willis at 651-674-8842. Bread Distributions are held the first Thursday of each month from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Braham Ambassador Program Dinner

Thursday, June 5: The Braham Ambassador and Little Miss Braham Candidate Dinner and Fundraiser will be held at 6 p.m. at the Braham Area Community Center, 655 8th St. SW (west of the elementary school). Tickets are $7/adult; $5/kids ages 12 and younger. Event is free to candidate sponsors. The dinner is a judged event for the candidates who will have speaking roles, interviews and serve dinner. ‘Princess Party’ Coming Soon

Friday, June 6: The Cambridge Ambassadors and Ambassador candidates are hosting their annual ‘Princess Party’ from 6-8:15 p.m. at the Armed Forces Reserve and Community Center in Cambridge. There will be lots of royal fun with real princesses. Activities are geared for ages 4-8, but any aged little princess is welcome to join. Princess attire is encouraged. There will be games, crafts, dancing, and stories with real princesses, and ending with the ever popular “Princess Parade.” $25 per princess at the door. Parents may drop off or stay and watch all the fun.

Take a Kid Fishing at Vegsund Park

Saturday, June 7: Bring your family for a free, fun day of fishing duringTake a Kid Fishing’ from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Vegsund Family County Park, 39961 Polk St. NE, Stanchfield. No fishing gear? No problem. Fishing equipment available for you to use. Fishing licenses are not needed that weekend since it is the Minnesota DNR’s designated “take a kid fishing weekend.” Knowledgeable people on site to help instruct on the how to’s. Adults 16 and over do not need a license when fishing with a child. Popcorn for Jesus will be joining too. The park is located in Stanchfield Township along the east side of County Road 24, one mile north of County Road 3, and two miles west of Highway 65.

Reading Program at Scout & Morgan

Saturday, June 7: A summer reading program, ‘Let Your Imagination Soar,’ sponsored by Scout & Morgan Books in Cambridge, will kickoff with activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children’s author Wes Erwin (Early Elem.) will be at the store from 10-11:30 a.m. and Ryan Jacobson (Older Elem.) will be there from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Make a craft related to each author’s books. There will be prizes, special gifts and deals. The free summer reading program includes a reading journal to encourage kids to keep reading during the summer. Rhubarb Fest at Siloa Lutheran

Sunday, June 8: Rhubarb Fest will be held at Siloa Lutheran Church from 11 a.m. to noon. There will be rhubarb desserts to eat and to buy. All are welcome to join. Siloa Lutheran, 2607 405th Ave. NW, Braham, 320-396-3927.

Little Miss Cambridge Crowning

Tuesday, June 10: The Little Miss Cambridge Crowning Ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. at the Cambridge-Isanti High School Performing Arts Center. $7 reserved seats or $5 general admission available at the door.

Vintage Dress Show

Thursday, June 12: Vintage Silk Gowns and a Tuxedo from the mid to late 19th Century will be displayed for your viewing pleasure at the Great Room at East Terrace Cooperative from 2-4 p.m. Come enjoy the glory of yester year. Meeting to Discuss YMCA 

Thursday, June 12: A group of area citizens are meeting to discuss the prospects of a YMCA and public pool for Cambridge. Are you interested in making this become a reality for our area? Come to a meeting. All are welcome. Meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Cambridge-Isanti High School cafeteria.

Helping Bees and their Keepers

Thursday, June 12: ‘Helping Bees and Their Keepers,’ will be presented by Becky Masterman, UMN Bee Squad Coordinator, at 7 p.m. at the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge. The event is free, but reservations are required by calling 763-689-1810.
