C-I Baseball Coach appreciates support

Dear Editor:

Another wild spring delivered from Mother Nature, resulted in another condensed baseball season, which unfortunately concluded this week. I would like to thank the people involved with the program for a great season. I would also like to extend recognition to some people who are an integral part of every season.

First of all, the players deserve a thank you for all of their hard work and attitude in practice and in the games, they have represented themselves, our communities, and school with class. Next, my assistant coaches deserve a great deal of thanks. In particular, my varsity staff of Wade Reichmann, Ryan Hajek, volunteer Dick Humphrey, and Kyle Grabowska who put in many hours above and beyond the call of duty with field work, practice, and game preparation.

Additionally, I would like to thank the Diamond Club for all of their help and support all year long, particularly with the fundraising efforts that are necessary to support our program, without them our program goes without a lot of extra things, such as the opportunity to play at beautiful Siebert Field at the U of M.  I would like to extend a special thank you to our Diamond Club treasurer Lori Nelson and her family for all they do in the efforts of supporting our program with the Diamond Club, it is very much appreciated and her efforts will be greatly missed, as she is stepping aside after being with the club for 8 years.

Finally, I would like to thank our school administration and administrative staff for their support of the program during the season. What a busy spring it was in the re-scheduling department and our Athletic Department handled all changes with precision, so thank you to Mark Solberg and Robin Schulz for all of your work. I know it was a demanding spring for all sports. You are appreciated.

It is also important to thank the communities of Cambridge and Isanti for their support, whether through our fundraising efforts or supporting the team by coming to the games. The two communities and local businesses have always been and continue to be very supportive of our athletics and activities, which ultimately support all of our kids.  In today’s day and age the local businesses get leaned on to support many local youth activities, and we appreciate those that are always so willing to support Bluejacket Baseball.

The most important thank you goes out to my wife Aaron, who is my top assistant coach, and my daughters Addie and Finnleigh who make numerous sacrifices during the baseball season; I appreciate their love and support. I could not do it without them.

It is great to be a part of such supporting communities.  I consider it an honor to be the baseball coach at Cambridge-Isanti High School. I am extremely proud of my roots as a Bluejacket and being involved with the athletic department. We will continue to work hard to uphold the standards of our community and school through what we do in the baseball program.
