With the season winding down, Cambridge Christian hosted its annual spring invite tournament May 17, and the Warriors swept their games for the top trophy.

Morning action began with the Warriors defeating Hope Christian 16-7. Nick Dufeck started and got the win, with Iain Thune finishing off in relief. Both Dufeck and Thune swung for three hits on offense. Adding two hits each were Jack Swenson, Alex Moses, Jake Bergman and Matt Reinke, with solo hits from Levi Wylie and Ethan Tastsides.

The Warriors put away the title by downing Chesterton Academy 15-6 in the afternoon. Moses put together another solid pitching performance by striking out 11 over six innings, allowing just one earned run. Bergman finished up by throwing the seventh. Wylie had the three-hit game for CCS. Providing two hits each were Moses, Bergman, Reinke, Dufeck, Westen Olson and Grant Wilsey.

The Warriors’ May 19 game with International School of MN was cancelled due to the weather. CCS (7-3) will wrap up the season with a rescheduled game May 30 (4 p.m.) at home against South Metro on the last day of school.
