Coach Thea Lowman: “Pulling out this close match was a nice victory for us. Devin Gislason played his best match of the season at No. 3 singles, controlling points right from the start of the match and winning 6-1, 6-1. Jed Bingham played steady at No. 4 singles, winning 6-3, 6-2. Carlo Holmberg and Nino Merkouris played aggressively to win their No. 2 doubles match 6-4, 6-4.

“Raffy Hernando and Sam Walz pulled out the crucial fourth team point by taking the third set of their No. 3 doubles match.  At 4-3 in the third set, they knew their match would be the deciding point for the team.  I’m proud of the way they handled the pressure, winning 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.”

In the next round, top-seed and 6th-ranked Elk River ended C-I’s season with a 7-0 victory.
