Braham Baseball opens playoffs May 23

Braham was seeded in the No. 5 slot for the Section 5A East baseball tournament which kicks off this week. The Bombers (2-11) will travel to No. 4 PACT (5-9) for a 7 p.m. game on Friday, May 23 at the new Castle Field in Anoka. The Panthers, who clipped Braham 7-6 back in April, are coached by Braham graduate Josh Coleman.

The winner of that game advances to play at the Pierz Stadium on Tuesday, May 27 (4:30 p.m.) against either East top-seed Hinckley-Finlayson (11-6), No. 8 East Central or No. 9 Onamia. From that day forward, the 5A tourney turns into double-elimination.

Also in the 5A East, Isle (7-4) is the No. 2 seed and Legacy Christian (6-8) is the No. 3. In the 5A West, Browerville (14-5) is the top seed, and Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (8-11) is the No. 2 seed.
