On May 3, 2014, Royal Neighbors of America joined hands with members of the North Ridge Rangers 4-H Club and 4-H alumni.

Working together, 36 pots were filled with soil, a cherry tomato plant and a RNA plant stake. In about 2 1/2 hours, plants were ready to be delivered to various places.  When finished with planting and clean up, Royal Neighbor members served a tasty lunch. One of their members surprised them with a special “Join Hands Day” cake, which was enjoyed by all.

The following places have or will receive plants: The Refuge Women’s Shelter, Park Manor and Elmhurst Senior Apartments, Silver Bay Veterans Home, Grasston Senior Dining and Meals on Wheels recipients. This project will help provide fresh nutritious tomatoes this summer.
