‘Safe Six Fungus Among Us’
Thursday, May 8: ‘Safe Six Fungus Among Us’ will be presented by Mike Kempenich (certified mushroom identification expert and past instructor for Minnesota’s wild mushroom identification certified course) at 7 p.m. at the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge. He is a contributing writer-photographer for The Minnesota Harvesters Handbook and has more than 40 years of experience foraging the wilds of Minnesota, and is owner of The Mikeology Store, purveyors of exotic mushrooms. Cambridge Parkinson’s Support Group
Wednesday, May 14: The Parkinson’s Support Group will meet at the Americinn, 38675 14th Ave., North Branch, (651-674-8627). A free educational event to hear how advances in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease are making a difference in peoples lives. Huge Plant Sale
Saturday, May 17: A huge plant sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (or until sold out). Located near the Cambridge Community Garden. Go south on Main Street to 18th Ave. SW, turn right and park behind the Community Garden on East Rum River Drive. This will be your only chance this year to purchase several varieties of plants (perennials, annuals, vegetables and fruit) that have been grown and nurtured by the certified University of Minnesota Master Gardeners of Isanti County. Gardening questions also welcome.
Support Veterans at Clarence’s Recycling
Saturday, May 17: Isanti County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon and Clarence’s Recycling, Isanti, are teaming up once again to help you clean out your garage and help Isanti County veterans. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. you can drop off your aluminum cans, be paid the market rate and Clarence’s will match that amount as a donation to Isanti County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon. You will find everything from garage sale items, home business sales, bake sale goods and free kid crafts. Admission is free; free-will donation appreciated.
Scandinavian Breakfast at Cambridge Lutheran
Saturday, May 17: A Scandinavian Breakfast Fundraiser to benefit Cambridge Lutheran’s 150th Anniversary will be held from 8-10 a.m. in the Cambridge Lutheran Fellowship Hall. $6 donation. Knights of Columbus Spaghetti Supper
Saturday, May 17: The Cambridge Knights of Columbus will host a Spaghetti Supper from 4-7 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church parish hall in Cambridge. Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $4 for ages 6-12, under age 6 are free. All proceeds will benefit the St. Scholastica School.
