Seven schools participated in the 2014 Mississippi 8 Art Show hosted at Cambridge-Isanti High School by teachers James Sullivan and Jessica Miller. C-I’s Carly Christensen  took “Best of Show” this year with her Collagraph Printmaking piece titled “Dislocated” and she also entered a detailed chest in ceramics. Lucia Sanz Montavez of CIHS received a “Superior” award for her drawing “My Mom Happy.” Mackenzie Kruse of CIHS received a “Superior” for her “Dreamers” sculpture. During the awards presentation, C-I’s Chelsey Schindeldecker picked up her “Excellent” ribbon for her drawing titled “At Peace.”

“I am really proud of you and impressed by what I’ve seen at the show,” spoke Sullivan to all the entrants during the awards ceremony. “Your work is touching people … and your heartbeat is pretty exciting.” Photos by Greg Hunt and CIHS Yearbook.
