Free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution

Thursday, May 1:  A Free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution hosted by Cambridge UPC Church at 210 10th Ave. SW, Cambridge (Renting the Seventh Day Adventists Church) will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. For questions, or if you need a ride, call Pastor David L. Willis at 651-674-8842. Bread Distributions are held the first Thursday of each month from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Knit Night in Isanti

Thursday, May 1: Knit Night is held every Thursday from 6-8:30 p.m. at Rendezvous Coffee Shop in Isanti for knit, crochet, quilt or chat. Lots of fun and great conversation. All are welcome.

Blood Drive at Anytime Fitness in Cambridge

Friday, May 2: An American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Anytime Fitness, 113 S. Main St., Cambridge. Call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment or for more information. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in.

Li’l Farm Children’s Home Benefit Sale

May 2 & May 3: A huge sale benefitting the Li’l Farm Children’s Home will be held from 1-6 p.m. Friday, May 2 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch. Items discounted 50 percent under wholesale prices. Kids items, floral wreaths and swags, Easter items, clothing, shoes, dishes, household items, framed art, kitchen items, bath items, books, greeting cards, lots of jewelry and more. Free admission.

CCS Spring Fling & 5K Run

Saturday, May 3: The Cambridge Christian School will hold its Spring Fling and 5K Run. 5K Run registration begins at 8 a.m. with the run at 9 a.m. A Run/Walk/Bike-a-Thon will be held at 10 a.m. A Silent Auction will start at 10 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. and feature some great items to bid on. A Kids Carnival with lots of games and food will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are welcome; fun for the entire family. For more information call the school at 763-689-3806.

Women’s Spring Brunch at South Isanti Baptist

Saturday, May 3: Women (and girls) from the community are invited to join for the Women’s Spring Brunch at 10 a.m. at South Isanti Baptist Church. Oxlip Church Salad Lunch & Bake Sale

Saturday, May 3: Oxlip Church will be hosting its Salad Lunch and Bake Sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A prize drawing will be every 15 minutes. Lunch, dessert and beverage is $5 per ticket. Bake sale items available. Oxlip Church is located 1 mile west of Highway 47 on County Road 5 (4770 Co. Rd. 5 NW).

Bingo at Christ the King Parish Hall

Sunday, May 4: All are welcome to join for Bingo at Christ the King Parish Hall in Cambridge. Baked potato bar sponsored by the Cambridge Knights of Columbus. Bingo starts at 5 p.m.

Free Computer Class

Thursday, May 8: Overview of Computers taught by Dave Larson will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Joy Lutheran Church in Cambridge. To register call Vicki at 763-689-5912. This is a beginning computer class, but will benefit people at all skill levels. Topics include: computer terminology, the parts inside the computer, tips for buying one, should you buy a laptop, pros and cons of different stores, and plenty of time for questions. This is not a hands on class, but demonstration and discussion.

Anderson Park Bird Walk

Saturday, May 10: Join experienced birders, Tom Anderson and Joe Sausen, for a guided bird walk through Anderson Park from 8-10:30 a.m. Come see the many spring migrants. New and experienced birders welcome. Bring binoculars and meet at the picnic shelter. Park located at 27241 Furman St. NE, North Branch.
