Enjoy music and dinner during WWII concert

Great music and great food. Thrill to choral music from and inspired by WWII. Be entertained by heartwarming stories from East Central residents who lived through that time.

In recognition of the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the East Central MN Chorale and Unum Vox will be presenting dinner concerts celebrating the 70th anniversary of D-Day performing music from and inspired by WWII.

The concert will also feature touching, inspirational, and funny stories gathered from people in East Central Minnesota who were personally affected by the war.

Hear about the pre-WWII innocent America, stories describing how residents were changed and challenged by the war, and the hope they felt as the war ended.

Listen to both large and small music groups perform popular music of the day and today’s music inspired by the events of that time. Take time out from dinner to view WWII memorabilia from local residents and county historical societies that take you on a visual journey through the innocence, challenges, and hope of that time.

The dinner concerts will be held Friday, May 9 at Spectacular Events in Isanti and Saturday, May 10, at Stevens in Princeton. Seating and social hour begin at 5 p.m.

Tickets for the dinner and concert are $30 per person and can be purchased from any ECMC or UV member or County Market in North Branch, The Leader in Cambridge and K-Bobs in Princeton.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
