Braham mayor recognizes national service

Braham Mayor Patricia Carlson submitted the following proclamation dated April 1 signed by herself and Braham Clerk-Administrator Sally Hoy.

“Whereas, the federal Corporation for National & Community Service organization has declared April 1, 2014 as Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service; and

Whereas, last year, 832 Mayors representing 100 million citizens participated in the inaugural Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service; and

Whereas, As the federal agency for national service and volunteering, the CNCS annually engages five million citizens in service at more than 70,000 sites in 8,500 cities across the country; and

Whereas, the city of Braham considers all volunteers at a national, state and local level to be an irreplaceable asset to their local community; and

Whereas, the city of Braham wishes to recognize and commend all volunteers through the CNCS program, as well as all other organizations and individual volunteers for their dedication, commitment, and many volunteer hours serving the Braham area community,

Therefore be it resolved by the Braham City Council, Isanti and Kanabec Counties, that April 1 of each year is dedicated as the Mayors Day of Recognition for National Services and all other national, state, and local area volunteers. Adopted by the Braham City Council this 1st day of April, 2014.”
