Eleanor Lindahl, age 85, of Princeton passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2014.
Eleanor Melvina nee Johnson Lindahl was born April 27, 1928 to Melvin and Mabel Johnson of Benson, MN. She was oldest of three children. Eleanor graduated from Benson High School. She married Dale Lindahl on May 9, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church.
In 1954 they relocated to Minneapolis. In 1960 they moved to a farm in Isanti County. Eleanor held multiple jobs through the years, including with Control Data and the Minnesota State Hospital in Cambridge, along with being a homemaker.
Eleanor was very active with her children in 4-H and horse shows, was a licensed motorcyclist and a snowmobiler. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, playing cards and in her later years watching the birds and wildlife in her yard. She stayed active with her church, helping with blood drives, volunteering and visiting friends.
Eleanor will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Loy and sister, Connie OBrien, and by her loving husband, Dale. She is survived by her children Ruth Sweet and husband John Pepera of Bradford, Joyce and Larry Shappee of Birch Run, Michigan, David and Linda Lindahl of Princeton, Roger and Anne Lindahl of Rochester, Jim and Kim Lindahl of Andover, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 21st at Faith Lutheran Church, Isanti. Visitation from noon until the service Monday at the church. Burial in Lakeside Cemetery, Isanti County. Memorials are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with Strike Funeral Homes.
