Multiple law enforcement agencies and first responders participated in a mock crash today (April 11) at Braham Area High School to give students a realistic look at the effects of impaired driving.

Several students participated in the mock crash and played the role of the victims. Several victims were taken by ambulance; one was airlifted via North Memorial Air Care; and another was pronounced dead at the scene and taken away in a hearse by Rock-Ingebrand Funeral Home. One student actor was arrested for driving under the influence after failing field sobriety tests.

Braham Area High School will hold its prom tomorrow (April 12) and this exercise served as a reminder about the  dangers and consequences involved with drunken driving.

Participating in the mock crash included the Braham Fire Department, Braham Police, Minnesota State Patrol, Isanti County Sheriff’s Office, Isanti County Safety and Rescue, Allina Ambulance, First Light Ambulance, North Memorial Air Care and Rock-Ingebrand Funeral Home. Photos by Rachel Kytonen
