Play Inc. Community Theatre will perform ‘How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying’ at 7 p.m. Friday, April 25; 7 p.m. Saturday, April 26; and 3 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at the Richard G. Performing Arts Center at Cambridge-Isanti High School.
Power, sex, ambition, greed … It’s just another day at the office. From the authors of ‘Guys and Dolls’ comes one of the most delightfully irreverent musicals of all time.
A satire of big business and all it holds sacred, ‘How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying’ follows the rise of J. Pierpont Finch, who uses a little handbook called “How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” to climb the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive, tackling such familiar but potent dangers as the aggressively compliant “company man,” the office party, backstabbing co-workers, caffeine addiction, and of course, true love.
This wonderful musical has been on Broadway three times: first with Robert Morse as the lead, in the 1990s Matthew Broderick stepped into the office, and finally two years ago, Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe made the corporate climb.
