Learn about local businesses at Isanti Area Community Expo

If you’re looking for an opportunity to meet with contractors, banks, senior living and other businesses within the area, stop by the fifth annual Isanti Area Community Expo.

The expo, hosted by the Isanti Area Chamber of Commerce, will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Isanti Intermediate School. There is free admission; however, food shelf donations are appreciated.

Expo guests will be greeted at the door by the Isanti Ambassadors, with the first 250 people receiving a free reusable expo bag filled with gift items from local businesses.

“The expo is a great place for the community to come and meet with a lot of different businesses all under one setting,” said Tracy Neifert, president of the Isanti Area Chamber of Commerce. “Isanti is not a ‘big box’ community. We have so many unique and home-based businesses that many people don’t event know about. The expo is a great opportunity for people to meet face-to-face with business owners from around the area.”

The River City Cloggers will perform at noon and 2 p.m., and food concessions will be provided by Isanti Retail Meats.

Everyone who attends the expo can register to win a $500 grand prize or two $100 cash prizes. The $500 grand prize drawing will be held just prior to 3 p.m. The other two drawings will take place during the expo. You need to be present to win the cash prizes.

All vendors at the expo will also have a prize giveaway attendees can register for at their tables with those drawings being held at 2:30 p.m.

Sponsors of this year’s expo include Isanti Rental, Minnco Credit Union, Anytime Fitness, Isanti Physical Therapy, Electrolysis by Patty Jean and Realstar Title.

Neifert explained there will be a wide variety of businesses and non-profit organizations at this year’s expo. Businesses include construction-trade, jewelry, senior living, banks, hospice, chiropractic companies, fitness and more. The city of Isanti will also have a booth at this year’s expo.

“When the Isanti Chamber started the expo five years ago, we viewed it as an affordable option for businesses and other organizations to get their name out into the community,” Neifert said. “We’ve had a very good response from vendors on this expo and try to accommodate their needs.”

Neifert said the expo is a way for people to learn about businesses in the area.

“We have a lot of young families moving into the area who need an opportunity to meet the businesses leaders of the community and this expo gives them that opportunity,” Neifert said. “The expo is located in a school gymnasium, so it is a relaxed and casual atmosphere. We encourage everyone to come out and learn about our wonderful area businesses.”

Neifert said the expo is still accepting vendor registrations, and chamber members receive a discounted registration fee. For vendor registration information, call the Isanti Area Chamber of Commerce at 763-444-8515 or call Neifert at Isanti Rental at 763-444-8000.

The Isanti Intermediate School is located at 101 Ninth Ave. NE (east of Highway 65 on County Road 5).
