Isanti mayor honors police officers

Isanti Mayor George Wimmer (far right) honors Isanti Police Officers Adam Gau (far left) and Rod Barrows for their outstanding work during the April 1 Isanti City Council meeting. Wimmer noted, “We are blessed to be living in the city of Isanti where we have such a high caliber of individuals. We have the best of police work there is.”

Barrows has recently been honored with a Criminal Justice Exemplary Student award through Concordia University in St. Paul. Wimmer noted Barrows was one of four students to receive this award. Barrows is currently working toward his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. The award was given by faculty and the department chair of criminal justice, and based on learning objectives, GPA and personal growth.

Gau has recently been elected as a board member on the Minnesota Juvenile Officers Association. Wimmer commended Gau for his hard work as a school resource officer at Isanti Middle School and also for his informative presentation during a recent forum on adolescent drug and alcohol prevention held at Isanti Middle School.
