Knights of Columbus hold Baby Bowl for PRC of Cambridge

Dear Editor:

Several area Knights of Columbus (KOC) groups joined together on Sunday, Feb. 23 to host a Bowling for Babies fundraiser at Junction Bowl in Isanti.

The fundraiser was to benefit the Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) of Cambridge’s need for a new ultrasound machine. The PRC of Cambridge, a non-profit 501(c)(3), offers free limited medical services to women and men in need. Their current ultrasound machine was aging and technology has greatly improved. Their goal is to purchase a new 3D/4D capable ultrasound machine at a cost of about $40,000. The Bowling for Babies event was the first of several that will help achieve this goal.

Junction Bowl of Isanti agreed to host the event at a greatly reduced cost. The bowling lanes were full and the event was a great success. The area KOCs raised over $5,500 for the ultrasound fund that day.

Thank you to Junction Bowl and the following KOC groups for hosting the event: Isanti, Oak Grove, Pine City, Braham, Taylor’s Falls, and North Branch. Also a big thanks to event sponsors: Gold Sponsors – North Branch KOC, Pine City KOC, Pine City Squires, Baby is a Baby, and Steve & Leila Shurts; Silver Sponsors – Used Boat World, George’s Boat Repair, Sorenson Agency, Dr. Francis Ryan, Taylor’s Falls KOC, Braham KOC, Isanti KOC, Elaine’s Flowers & Gifts, The Carpenter Family; Bronze Sponsors – John Hirsch Motors, St. Francis Hardware, The Rhodes Family, The Iverson Family, The Cuneo Family, The Koy Family, The Golden Family.  And a Special Thanks to: St. Patrick Women’s Club, St. Patrick Catholic Church of Cedar, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Guild, the Pregnancy Resource Center of Cambridge, and the area businesses who donated prizes!
