Local WWII veteran celebrates 90th birthday

Orvel Johnson invited 160 people to his birthday bash. The Bartlett, Minn. native, who now lives in Cambridge, celebrated his 90th birthday with family, friends and other veterans at American Jane’s Bar & Grill in Cambridge. In 2007, the Isanti County News wrote a story about the war hero and how he got his Purple Heart medal.

Johnson’s birthday was March 12, but he celebrated with his loved ones on Sunday. From eating to reminiscing, everyone talked about the genuine and jovial person Johnson is today.
