College Sports Notes

Cambridge-Isanti grads and sisters Allison Young and Erica Young are teammates on the Concordia University (St. Paul) women’s track & field squad. Allison, a senior, set a personal record in the high jump to place 15th at the NSIC Indoor Championships this month. Erica, a sophomore, ran legs on both the 9th-place 4×400 and 9th-place distance medley relays at the NSIC Indoors. The Golden Bears next action is the April 5 Emporia State Relays in Emporia, Kan.

• Braham grad Tyler Vaughan averaged 11.3 points/game with 64 three-pointers, 94 rebounds, 36 assists and 29 steals his sophomore season for Minnesota State-Moorhead men’s basketball. The Dragons finished with a 21-8 mark and won their first NSIC championship in 32 years.

• Cambridge-Isanti grad Clayton Jennissen went 0-2 at 174 lbs. for St. Cloud State at last weekend’s NCAA Division II Wrestling championships, dropping two tight decisions. The Huskies finished in 6th place as a team and had four wrestlers earn All-American honors.

• Cambridge-Isanti grad Tori Marlton is 1-0 in singles and 7-8 in doubles as a junior on the St. Cloud State University women’s tennis team so far this season. The Huskies are 7-9 overall and 4-0 in NSIC matches.

• Cambridge-Isanti grad Kylie Baas is a freshman on the St. Cloud State University women’s track & field team, competing in distance and jump event for the Huskies. She placed 10th in the 800-meter at the Minnesota State  Coaches Indoor Open in Mankato last month.
