Ribs & Chixfest Fundraiser at SAC’s
Friday, Feb. 28: A Ribs & Chixfest fundraiser will be held at the Cambridge Senior Activity Center, 332 3rd Ave. NW, Cambridge. Tickets are $15 each and avaialble at the Center or by calling 763-689-6555. 4:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. seating times. Menu includes Mama’s BBQ Ribs & Gingered Chicken, Creamed Potatoes & Baked Beans, Broccoli Salad or Cole Slaw w/Rolls, Scratch Carrot Cake or Peach Cobbler. Proceeds going toward the Center’s move to Cambridge City Center Mall.
Friends of the Isanti Area Library Book Sale
Feb. 28 & March 1: The Friends of the Isanti Area Library will host a sale featuring used books, DVDs and audio. The sale will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Feb. 28 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 1 and held at the SOS Classroom, 110 NW Second Ave., Isanti (across from Faith Lutheran Church). Books only $.25. Gently used books and DVD donations accepted. (No encyclopedias, Readers Digest Condensed Books or textbooks).
Free class at Green Barn Garden Center
Saturday, March 1: A free class will be held from 10-11:15 a.m. at the Green Barn Garden Center called, “Pruning Basics.” Late winter is a great time to prune many varieties of trees and shrubs. Saturday, March 1: Stop in at City Center Market, ignore the snow, and start planning your best garden ever. They have organic and locally-sourced seeds (hardy enough for the short Minnesota summers). A Master Gardener will be on hand to answer your garden questions and help you choose the best vegetables, herbs and flowers for your garden. Adult Forum at Common Ground UMC
Sunday, March 2: “An enemy is someone whose story we have not yet heard.” If Christians believe that their tradition is the one true way and other faiths claim the same, how are we to live peacefully with each other in this very diverse world? The community is invited to an Adult Forum and conversation about the Islamic faith at 10:45 a.m. at Common Ground UMC, 404 N. Cypress, Cambridge. A speaker from the Minneapolis-based Islamic Resource Group, will join for a presentation and discussion about his faith tradition.
