Let’s Go Fishing is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping senior citizens, veterans, persons with disabilities and youth enjoy the experience of fishing and boating on local area lakes in Central Minnesota.
Many participants in the program have not been able to get out on a lake for many years, and in some cases it is the first time they have had the opportunity.
The group utilizes a special pontoon which is equipped with a third pontoon for stability and ramps to accommodate wheel chairs. The trips are provided to the participants at no charge.
The North Branch Chapter raises much of the funding thru an Annual Waffle Feed and Silent Auction, as well as many sponsors. This year’s Waffle Feed will be from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Main Street Church in North Branch.
The group is always looking for volunteers to join their efforts in various capacities, such as Captains or Mates on the boat, fundraising, scheduling and board members.
The North Branch Chapter of Let’s Go Fishing will be hosting an open session at 7 p.m. March 10 at the AmericInn in North Branch. Let’s Go Fishing Founder Joe Holm will speak to local area residents regarding the organization and volunteer opportunities.
