Senior Parker Brown and junior Cody Hemmelgarn pulled off the task of finishing at the top of Section 7AA Diving for the second-straight season when the competition was held Feb. 22 in Coon Rapids.

Brown racked up 389.7 points off the board, and Hemmelgarn placed 2nd at 349.45 to both return to the State meet. Fellow C-I divers Tristen Zimprich (311.8) and Taylor Kassa (272.25) placed 6th and 10th for more team points in that event.

The Bluejackets finished in 7th place in the final team standings after the swim events turned into a one-day deal since Thursday’s prelims were knocked out with the ice and snow storm. Anoka rose back to the top of the section by totaling more than 100 points on runner-up Forest Lake.

Junior Josh Minnihan posted the Jacket swimmers highest placing when he finished 6th at 58.4 in the 100 Butterfly, and he was 9th in the 200 IM at 2:11.4. He also led off the 6th-place 400 Freestyle Relay, teaming with Alex Heinen, Gage Maas and Peter Edblad for a 3:34.4 time.

The Bluejacket foursome of Jared Zacharias, Hemmelgarn, Heinen and Edblad followed with 7th-place points in the 200 Free Relay (1:39.7).hemmelgarnC
