Braham School raises $3,301 for leukemia and lymphoma

Braham Elementary reached its goal in collecting $3,301 for Pennies for Patients to benefit the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Part of that goal was having Elementary Principal Jeff Eklund shave his head. Katie Grundyson, owner of Salon 311, donated her time to oversee the shaving of Eklund’s hair. “I am so proud of our students,” Eklund said. “One student or one penny acting alone doesn’t accomplish much, but when we all work together, anything is possible. Our students and staff did a great job of giving selflessly to help children and others battling blood cancer.”

Nate Fiedler was one of the top contributors this year, and was given the honor of taking the first shave on Eklund’s hair. The top fundraising class was Lori Lemieux’s fourth-grade class who donated nearly 99 pounds and won the Domino’s Pizza Party.
