Duane S. Berg, 82, of North Branch, went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2014.
Duane was born in Dalbo, Minn. and graduated from Ogilvie High School in 1950. He proudly served in the United States Army as a sergeant stationed in Japan during the Korean War. After returning home, he worked in electronics for 37 years at Sperry-UNISYS. Duane enjoyed many hobbies and activities over the years including golfing, bowling, softball, and spending time at the familys cabin on Rush Lake. Duane enjoyed life to the fullest and often remarked how grateful he was for Gods many blessings.
He is survived and greatly missed by his loving family: wife of 59 years, Verlyn; children, Sherryn Brown (Mike Kvam), Debbie (Mike) Nelson, Jackie (Jim) Flesher, and beloved grandchildren, Tony Brown, Olivia Flesher, Grace and Samantha Nelson, step grandchildren, Justin and Jason Flesher; nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
Duane is preceded in death by parents Victor and Edith, sister Louise, and brother Eldon.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 18 at Calvary Lutheran Church – Rush Point with Rev. Keith Kolzow officiating. Music was provided by the Abrahamson Sisters and Jon Ekstrom and Janice Johnson served as the organist. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Minneapolis.
