Shown above on the front of Isanti Fire Ladder 1, is a complete set of new hydraulic rescue tools recently purchased with funds the fire department was awarded from two grants. The two grants were applied for and awarded separately; receiving both has been quite an accomplishment.
Newer methods of building automobiles and equipment today are lighter and safer thanks to stronger metals and advanced construction methods. These added strengths make the job of extrication equipment that much more demanding. To meet these demands, the new tools run at 10,500 psi, which is over twice the pressure of the tools they will be replacing. Included from left to right is a battery powered cutter-spreader, a hydraulic cutter, an electric powered hydraulic pump, a hydraulic ram and spreader.
Isanti Firefighters would like to thank the members of East Central Energy and the Federal Emergency Management Agency for offering these grants and for choosing Isanti Fire District as a recipient.
