Brown sets team dive mark at C-I Invite

A diving showcase was witnessed at Saturday’s Bluejacket Invite where senior Parker Brown broke the C-I team record with a 425.75 for 11 dives, overcoming the old mark set by Stewart Bastian in 1979.

Brown finished 3rd at the Invite behind Chisago Lakes’ Jacob Doble (464.7) and Elk River’s Andrew Bronshteyn (436.8). C-I divers racked up a pile of points when Cody Hemmelgarn worked for 5th (358.2), Tristan Zimprich was 7th (299.9) and Taylor Kassa placed 9th (262.).

Josh Minnihan led the Jacket swimmers with 3rd places in both the 200 IM (2:15.0) and 100 Butterfly (1:00.3). He also led off the 4th-place 400 Freestyle Relay with Joe Lind, Alex Heinen and Peter Edblad (3:44).

Edblad (5:37.2), Heinen (5:37.5) and Lind (5:46.1) stacked the 3rd-5th spots in the 500 Freestyle. Edblad (2:02) and Heinen (2:03) began their day with a 4th and 6th in the 200 Free. Collin Perra was 9th in the 10 Backstroke (1:06.9), and Jared Zacharias finished 10th in the 100 Breaststroke (1:13.8)

• Also last week, St. Michael-Albertville rolled to a 105-76 M-8 dual win over the Bluejackets.
